NUEVO LAREDO: At least 40 bodies have been found on a ranch in San Fernando in Mexico's northern state of Tamaulipas, on the US border, authorities said. "We are working on the investigation and the remains in a mass grave in La Joya, in San Fernando. There could be between 40 and 60 bodies," said an official in the Tamaulipas state prosecutor's office.
A military patrol located the mass grave, the source added. Authorities were trying to determine if the remains were those of migrants who often cross the area en route to the United States, he added.
