KARACHI: The deadly viral disease called ‘Ranikhet’ could not be controlled, as it continues the killing spree taking the death toll of peacocks in the desert of Thar to 124 in 23 days. Despite all tall claims of the department of wildlife, the beautiful peacocks hit by the mysterious disease still dancing to death, as four more peacocks in Taluka Mitthi of Tharparkar died uncared overnight, taking the death toll to 124 in 23 days since the epidemic broke out.

Local people said that the disease originated from the hens and caught the peacocks also. Any measure to control the disease must also take notice of the root cause and a holistic approach needed in this regard.
